Does the Medical Alert always call 911?

by Jeff Miller

in Ask Jeff Questions Answered,Help Button,Medical Alarm Issues,Medical Alert

My father does fall a lot in his home, which is the main reason we want to get him a medical alert, but most of the time he just needs a neighbor or relative to come by and help him up. Is there a way we can have someone called first instead of 911 if it’s not serious?

Janice

Hi Janice,

If your father presses the help button on the medical alert and requests to our operator that we call an emergency contact instead of 911 because it’s not serious, we can definitely do that. We would only dispatch 911 if we don’t get a response or he says it’s more serious.

I hope this helps,

Noah
