I strongly believe that medical alert systems are meant to be simple. The overall concept is very basic: A senior wears their necklace or wristband at all times. During an emergency they press their button, speak to the operator over the medical alert devices speaker, and get whatever type of help they need. It’s important not to complicate your dad’s medical alert systems by adding on too many features. For example, the wall buttons that you can install in dad’s home will make him feel a false sense of protection when he is not wearing his help button. A speaker inside of the pendant will make it not waterproof, and he’d have to take the device off during a shower. There are many extra features out there that just end up complicating dad’s service or enabling him to feel like he can not wear his help button. So I encourage you to keep his system easy for him to understand and easy to use! I know first hand that this will really optimize his success in using these medical alert devices…
