It’s that season again … Just about everyone is scrambling to find the perfect gifts for their family. But before you buy a medical alert for your mom, talk to her about the idea. I know it may give away some surprise, but it is an important step towards making sure that she will use it properly. When someone is left out of a decision that effects them directly, they can often feel disconnected from the idea. The proper use of a medical alert involves your mom wearing the help button daily. If she feels like the medical alert was forced on her it will be incredibly easy for her to simply not wear her help button, or not wear it all the time. So talk to your mom.
