An Emergency Button that is Reliable and Affordable

An emergency button must help our elderly family members feel secure and safe to remain living at home alone and independently. No doubt emergency buttons must be reliable and affordable. What makes Senior Safety the best emergency button is the high quality of our monitoring service along with our caring customer service representatives.

When you or your elderly loved one has fallen and finds them self in an awkward or dangerous situation in the home, be it medical, fire or an intruder, having a quality emergency button in place along with the waterproof help button they wear in the shower and the tub will give everyone greater "Peace of Mind".

Having one of our "Rock Solid" emergency buttons gives you and your loved ones the ability to send that important first alert that medical help is needed to both the paramedics and to the family. Time is of the essence during all emergencies. Our monitoring center will know mom or dad is in trouble within 20–30 seconds, in most cases, and dispatch whatever help they need. We stay on the line to talk to them until help arrives at the home when necessary.

Senior citizens love us because we care.

Jeff's best test for all emergency button representatives you call

Here is a simple test when you talk to their representatives. When it comes time that they ask you for the order after telling you about their emergency button tell them that you want to think about it.

Now listen for the fun or aggravation to start, the pushy sales types will keep asking for your credit card or bank account information… over and over again.

Then simply ask for a brochure. You will find them giving you a hard time by saying things like:

  1. It will take a week or two to receive the brochure, why don't you order now.
  2. You don't have to check with your mom seniors never want an emergency button, just give me your credit card.
  3. Whatever you do, don't give them your phone number. Watch, the next day they will call you by capturing your caller ID, and they will be far more aggressive about you ordering now and giving them your credit card or your bank account details again.

Just learn to say NO and sit back and watch the fun.

Take the Time to Make an Informed Decision

Call everyone and order their brochure… you will quickly detect with your "gut meter" who is good and who makes you feel uncomfortable.

Be careful not to sign any long term contracts… they are impossible to get out of.
I'm just sayin'

We have no long term agreements, you can cancel at any time and we give you a 30 day money back guarantee.

Yes we are available in every single town in the United States, even if your home is in a rural area.

We Care!

Medical Alert Issues

Can I Still Get Help Now if I’m Unconscious?

Open
Recently, a man asked me if he can still get help now even if he is unable to press the emergency button on his medical pendant. He said he is prone to fainting/dizzy spells and is concerned.

Senior Safety can do a lot, but we cannot help someone if he/she doesn't press the emergency button. This is how we know an emergency is occurring. If you even think you may faint or become unconscious, you can't press that button too soon. That's why you wear it on your body, so it can always be with you. The moment you feel that you are in danger, please press your medical pendant. Best case scenario, it turns out to be a false alarm. We would always rather be safe than sorry.

What If My Power Goes Out & I Need My Emergency Button?

Open
I spoke to a woman yesterday who was concerned that her emergency button would not work when the power goes out.  Senior Safety services people all over the country.   This means we encounter seniors who have different environmental conditions.

Most people don't have to worry about this, but this particular senior lives in an area of hurricanes and tornadoes, and in certain seasons the power goes out quite frequently. Luckily, I was able to explain to the woman that we have a back up battery that lasts up to 24 hours. So, if you do have to press the emergency button during a power outage, you should have no problem doing so.

Once the power is returned, your emergency button will recharge the battery again. In the meantime, Senior Safety has you covered!

Does your Emergency Button work outside?

Open
Will your Emergency Button still work outside the home in case my father has an emergency?  He  likes to go outside a lot and work on the house and do gardening.

Dan
Hartford, CT

Hi Dan,

The emergency button has a range of up to 400 feet outside the home. If the user presses the emergency button outside he/she may not be able to make a voice to voice connection but if they are in range of the speaker box we would pick up the signal and be able to send help when the emergency button is pressed. So they would be protected.

I hope this helps,

How Hard Do I Have To Press My Emergency Button?

Open
Once a senior has their medical alert system set up, I often get asked how hard should the emergency button be pressed in an emergency. The answer is firmly. Not too hard or too soft.

You’ll know how hard to press it by how your test goes. When you test your unit (which you should be doing once a month), if you are able to communicate with our monitoring center, then you have pressed the button hard enough.

I Have a Soft Voice, Where Should I Put My Emergency Button?

Open
The other day, a woman told me she wasn’t sure where to put the speaker box for her emergency button because she has a soft voice that doesn’t carry well.  Often times, the elderly don’t have the same vocal power as when they were young.

In her case and in all cases, we recommend that you place your emergency button system in a central location inside the home. This way, no matter where you are when you press the emergency button and hopefully your voice will be able to carry for the dispatch to hear you. But, if you do have a soft voice, there is no need to worry. If for whatever reason the Senior Safety team cannot hear or understand you , we will immediately contact the paramedics. At Senior Safety, we would always rather be safe than sorry!
