Medical Alert Helps Seniors During Emergencies

Medical alert systems along with a good alarm monitoring service are a great help for seniors who are living alone, or with their family. These devices are known to provide "Peace of Mind" for everyone.

When an elderly person finds them self in an awkward or dangerous situation whether it happens to be an EMS emergency, fire or an intruder, having a help button in their home to push when they can't reach the phone is crucial for their safety.

These systems will often be your first alert that a senior may need a lifeline because they may have fallen. Maybe they went out to get the mail, put out the trash, were working in their home garden, basement or garage… a good medical alert will get them help when they need it most, when they have an emergency and can't reach the phone for help.

Comparing *Life Alert ® with the Senior Safety Medical Alert

Life Alert is often compared to the Senior Safety systems. We hear that Life Alert costs approximately $49 per month. Senior Safety is $24.95 per month.

We just love when people call us back to order after conducting reviews and comparisons of all the companies telling us American Senior Safety Agency is their choice because they think we are the best.

We take great pride in our Customer Service (truly the most important part of any monitoring service), often we spend more than an hour helping our clients out over the phone… we take all the time they need. It's clear to us that as age creeps up on us, sometimes we need a little more caring help… someone to listen to you.

Jeff's best test for all representatives you call

Here is a simple test when you talk to their representatives. When it comes time that they ask you for the order after telling you about their system and service tell them that you want to think about it.

Now listen for the fun or aggravation to start, the pushy sales types will keep asking for your credit card or bank account information… over and over again.

Then simply ask for a brochure. You will find them giving you a hard time by saying things like:

  1. It will take a week or two to receive the brochure, why don't you order now.
  2. You don't have to check with your mom seniors never want a help button, just give me your credit card.
  3. Whatever you do, don't give them your phone number. Watch, the next day they will call you by capturing your caller ID, and they will be far more aggressive about you ordering now and giving them your credit card or your bank account details again.

Just learn to say NO and sit back and watch the fun.

Take the Time to Make an Informed Decision

Call everyone and order their brochure… you will quickly detect with your "gut meter" who is good and who makes you feel uncomfortable.

Be careful not to sign any long term contracts… they are impossible to get out of.
I'm just sayin'

We have no long term agreements, you can cancel at any time and we give you a 30 day money back guarantee.

Yes we are available in every single town in the United States, even if your home is in a rural area.

We Care!

Medical Alert Issues

Medical Alert Systems Can Even Benefit Active Seniors

Open
The goal of every retiree is to stay physically fit and mentally active long into our golden years. Thanks to all the wonderful medical advances, this is actually quite a realistic goal to achieve. Just look at the rising life expectancy statistics for proof of this. Ten years ago, life expectancy hovered around 72. Today, that number has gone up to 78. As a way of enjoying all these extra years, more and more seniors are making the move into retirement communities designed to cater to their needs. Even though these seniors are living a completely independent lifestyle, they can still benefit from having access to a personal medical alert in their home. You just can’t be too safe!

Retirement communities are like self contained villages for seniors. There are individual homes or condos that have been especially built with the senior in mind. Translation: no stairs! These communities also offer a wide range of outdoor activities like golfing, tennis and swimming. It’s literally like living at a country club. Best of all, the retirees are surrounded with like minded individuals. It’s wonderful environment to make new friends and share life stories built on common experiences.

At each of these communities, the residents are provided the opportunity to socialize through communal dining and at the many special events. Unlike assisted living or nursing home, there isn’t always direct access to on site medical personnel. However, that kind of direct access can be made available in the home with the use of personal emergency response systems. These so-called panic button pendants or bracelets aren’t the least bit intrusive. What they are is a secure access to emergency assistance. It’s just another way of getting the most out of your golden years. [Read More...]

Choosing a medical alert necklace or wristband

Open

When you order our system you get your choice between the medical alert necklace and the wristband. Now, most of our customers already have a preference and would be more comfortable wearing one or the other with their medical alert system. If you don't have a preference here are a few things to think about: Do you wear necklaces or a watch already? Perhaps you are already comfortable wearing something around you neck. You might choose the medical alert necklace then. Or maybe you feel like the necklace button would get in the way of the other necklaces you wear. The wristband may be for you. Ultimately it is your choice! Whatever you are more comfortable wearing everyday is the best choice for your medical alert.

Do I need a land line for your Medical Alert Alarm?

Open
I only have a cell phone. Will I still be able to use your medical alert alarm? Can I use a Magic Jack phone system?

Rachel
Bozeman, MT

Unfortunately medical alarm systems will not work with a cell phone only and are not compatible with the Magic Jack phone system. You will need a land line for a medical alarm system to work. Many of our customers use a low cost basic line. We don’t require long distance.

I hope this helps,

Can I wear my Senior Medical Alert in the pool?

Open

My mother sometimes swims in the pool at her retirement community. Would it be okay for her to wear the senior medical alert when she goes in the pool?

Clarice

Hayward, WI

Hi Clarice,

The Senior Medical Alert is waterproof and safe to us in the home shower or bath but not in the pool. The chemicals are not safe for the pendant so we would recommend taking off the necklace or wristband before she swims and then making sure to put it back on afterward.

I hope this helps,

Noah
