The necklace has a white button attached to a clear plastic beaded chain. This chain is a break away chain - so that if your medical pendant gets caught on something during a fall it won't become a choking hazard. The wrist alert is a black button on a black plastic watch band. While both the necklace and wrist alert come on their own chain or band, you can replace either with a chain or band of your liking. Ultimately whatever makes you feel the most comfortable works best. After all you will be wearing your medical pendants at all times!
