Personal Emergency Response Systems help seniors live at home independently

Personal Emergency Response Systems, also known as PERS, act as your best alert to first responders and your family when used with a quality home emergency response monitoring service. These personal emergency response systems are known to provide "Peace of Mind" for seniors that live alone in their home or live with family.

Having a button to push when an elderly person can't reach the phone is crucial. Often seniors will find themselves in an awkward or dangerous spot. This could be a medical emergency, fire, or an intruder… Response devices act as your alert that a senior may be having an emergency because they may have fallen. Maybe they were working in the back shed, their home's cellar or garage, or maybe they were walking in the front yard when they fell… the best personal emergency response buttons will get them help when they can't reach the phone to dial 911 for help.

Jeff's best test for all personal response representatives you call

Here is a simple test when you talk to their representatives. When it comes time that they ask you for the order after telling you about their personal emergency response systems tell them that you want to think about it.

Now listen for the fun or aggravation to start, the pushy sales types will keep asking for your credit card or bank account information… over and over again.

Then simply ask for a brochure. You will find them giving you a hard time by saying things like:

  1. It will take a week or two to receive the brochure, why don't you order now.
  2. You don't have to check with your mom seniors never want personal response devices, just give me your credit card.
  3. Whatever you do, don't give them your phone number. Watch, the next day they will call you by capturing your caller ID, and they will be far more aggressive about you ordering now and giving them your credit card or your bank account details again.

Just learn to say NO and sit back and watch the fun.

Take the Time to Make an Informed Decision

Call everyone and order their brochure… you will quickly detect with your "gut meter" who is good and who makes you feel uncomfortable.

Be careful not to sign any long term contracts… they are impossible to get out of.
I'm just sayin'

We have no long term agreements, you can cancel at any time and we give you a 30 day money back guarantee.

Yes we are available in every single town in the United States, even if your home is in a rural area.

We Care!

Medical Alert Issues

Medical Alert Devices or Cell Phones

Open
In many ways medical alert devices can be considered as a type of cell phone for emergencies. When activated the medical alarm triggers a response from a dedicated call center. On a cell phone, you need to dial 9-1-1 to get assistance. The difference here is obvious: one push of a button versus dialing several numbers and hitting send.

Then there is the issue of signal strength. If you have ever used a cell phone then it’s a pretty safe bet that you had a call drop out on you. That’s the last thing you want to happen in an emergency situation. Medical alert systems are plugged directly into your home phone landline so there is no chance of a weak signal or dropped call.

Also keep in mind that cell phones need to be charged. A personal medical alarm doesn’t. It is plugged right into the wall and is always on. A medical alert button is also a panic button. They can be used in any kind of emergency not just if you take a fall or feel chest pains. On the other end of the line of a personal emergency response system are operators who will know right away who is calling them. You won’t have to worry about wasting time giving out your phone number or address. The only advantage a cell phone has is with personal calls. You can’t call up your neighbor on a medical alert device! Add it all up and you’ll see that medical alert systems beat out the cell phone in case of a home emergency. [Read More...]

Emergency alert systems in your rural town

Open

A lot of people call wondering if our emergency alert systems will work in their rural town. We are always happy to give them the good news. We cover the entire US! Our service is exactly the same no matter where you live in the country - Alaska and Hawaii included. The only requirement for our personal emergency response systems is that you have a telephone service in the house. These systems operate through your telephone line to connect you to one of our emergency alert systems operators. It's very important to know that these devices will not work with a cell phone, and often times rural areas have spottier cell reception. We're so happy to cover your mom with our personal emergency response systems even if she lives in a rural area :)

I'm 63 and now need a personal emergency response system just like seniors

Open
So I am the CEO of my own  personal emergency response systems and now I too need what all seniors need a help button to push if I am in a compromised position. My heart attack awoke me to the needs that the elderly have when they are recuperating from a heart attack, a stroke or any hospitalization.

When I'm alone and taking a shower who would hear me when I need help? When I find myself short of breath who will hand me my oxygen? When I have to read my medications who can read 6 or 4 point font?

The first alert that we need help could be any of these issues. I needed a Benedryl last night because my throat closed up...you wouldn't believe the size of the font. Impossible for good eyes to read.

Visit mom and dad to see how well things are situated for them. Can they open their pill bottles? Do they take their medications properly? Can they open difficult packaging? Did you protect them with a personal emergency response system? [Read More...]

Medical Alert Systems Can Even Benefit Active Seniors

Open
The goal of every retiree is to stay physically fit and mentally active long into our golden years. Thanks to all the wonderful medical advances, this is actually quite a realistic goal to achieve. Just look at the rising life expectancy statistics for proof of this. Ten years ago, life expectancy hovered around 72. Today, that number has gone up to 78. As a way of enjoying all these extra years, more and more seniors are making the move into retirement communities designed to cater to their needs. Even though these seniors are living a completely independent lifestyle, they can still benefit from having access to a personal medical alert in their home. You just can’t be too safe!

Retirement communities are like self contained villages for seniors. There are individual homes or condos that have been especially built with the senior in mind. Translation: no stairs! These communities also offer a wide range of outdoor activities like golfing, tennis and swimming. It’s literally like living at a country club. Best of all, the retirees are surrounded with like minded individuals. It’s wonderful environment to make new friends and share life stories built on common experiences.

At each of these communities, the residents are provided the opportunity to socialize through communal dining and at the many special events. Unlike assisted living or nursing home, there isn’t always direct access to on site medical personnel. However, that kind of direct access can be made available in the home with the use of personal emergency response systems. These so-called panic button pendants or bracelets aren’t the least bit intrusive. What they are is a secure access to emergency assistance. It’s just another way of getting the most out of your golden years. [Read More...]
