Some people are skeptical when we initially tell them that the medical alert's two-way communication will work in up to a 3000 sq ft home. We always recommend starting off by doing a walk around test after the system is delivered and you have it plugged in. This test demonstrates the area that you will be able to speak back and forth with our operator. Today I helped a daughter and her father set up the system over the phone. When it came time to test we had the father walk from room to room until he was in the back bedroom, the daughter was surprised that the medical alert microphone was able to pick up her fathers voice. This was in a part of the house that she could barely hear him from… Medical alert technology has certainly come along way. We're always excited to see what's next!

Could you please tell me the distance range your alarm works for?

OR-- How far away from the "box" does the signal work?

My mother likes to feed her cats in the back yard. Would the signal be picked up there if she needed help?

The range of our medical alert systems are approximately 300' to 400’ from the speaker box, of course as you have asked, this must be tested in the local environment to see how far it really reaches.

I love that your mother feeds her cats in the back yard, it’s not only good exercise for her, but provides much warmth, love and participation. These are all things I believe lead to a longer and happier life. And of course, I am a cat lover. My cat named Spooky is a huge 25 pound black cat.

The reach of our help button outside does not include the ability to talk to her outside of her home, but we will be notified she is in trouble and send help immediately. The voice-to-voice component of our speaker box works well within approximately a 3500 square foot home.

Our medical alert necklace is available throughout the entire US - both in rural areas and in big cities! The service works the same where ever you are located. The only requirement is that you have a home telephone service in your house for our system to plug into. During an emergency, we would be calling your local 911 service and getting your local paramedics for you. Ultimately, our medical alert is there to get you help when you are unable to reach a phone to dial 911 yourself. We have to call that 10 digit number because our monitoring center is in a different location than your home. A lot of our customers end up ordering an extra emergency alert button for their home. This is often good just in case you misplace the main button that you use and need a backup while you search around for it. If you end up finding a misplaced medical alert button after several months or a couple years though, how do you know it is still working?
