The Vial of Life Project is a smart and easy way to have your medical information on hand for paramedics just in case you have an emergency. Whenever you press one of your medical alert buttons and the paramedics are dispatched, they will use that medical information to diagnose and treat you correctly. Hear Jeffrey Miller talk about the Vial of Life and our medical alert service on live on the radio…
[Read More...]Medical alert services are a touchy subject with some seniors. Personally, I don't think it should be that way. It's important for seniors to realize that having a personal alert in their home isn't meant to take away their independence. It's really the opposite! Having a medical alert let's seniors, who otherwise may need to consider assisted living, stay in the home they love for many years. It's about staying happy and healthy and about staying at home where you belong! Your family wants you to be safe, protected, and healthy and you don't want to have to move to a senior facility. A personal alert system in your home is the key!
[Read More...]You may have noticed that we have a free gift offer when you sign up for our medical alert service. The lockbox is definitely the most popular gift choice, and it's for a great reason! It's a smart idea to have some sort of plan in place just in case you have to use your medical alert and the paramedics come to your house. If your door were locked when they arrive, they may have to break a window or break the door to get you help. To prevent property damage, you can lock a spare key inside of the lockbox and we provide the lockbox combination to the paramedics at the time of dispatch.
While we hope you never need to use your medical alert, you should always be prepared. Plus the lockbox is free with your order! You really can't beat that :)
[Read More...]Even before your shipment arrives on your doorstep you will need to think about where you would like to have your medical alert located in your home. We recommend plugging in your system in a centrally located phone jack. This may be your living room, a hallway, or even a central bedroom. It is different for each house. That way our operator will be able to speak back and forth with you no matter where you are when you press your medical emergency necklace. While setting up the medical alert centrally is usually the right choice, the best thing to do is to test the medical alert just to make sure. You can do what we call the Walk Around Test. This test allows you to try speaking with an operator from each room in your house. If you need to, you can change the location after running the Walk Around Test to optimize the area covered! That way you know you will be able to speak to us anytime you press your medical emergency necklace.
