Watch this informative video on how medical alert systems work…
First and foremost the best medical alert systems like Senior Safety are Reliable, Affordable, Effective and Rock Solid.
When you need help… push the help button you wear. The button can be worn hanging around your neck or on your wrist as a medical alert bracelet. Both help buttons are waterproof and designed to wear in the shower or tub.
Once the button is pushed, it contacts the medical alarms speaker box that you plug into your phone jack and your electrical outlet. It then calls our 24 hour emergency response monitoring center. In 20 to 30 seconds we know that you are in trouble… and we open a "Voice to Voice" channel… which means our operator can speak back and forth with you from basically wherever you are in your home. You never have to touch or reach your phone. We are talking to you through the Speaker Box. It has a very loud speaker, and supersensitive microphone.
"My aunt Tillie, even though her hearing was not perfect, could hear our operators around her home… and she knew if we couldn’t hear her, we would assume that she was in trouble and we would send her help."
We listen to what you have to say. If you tell us that you don't want the emergency response personnel called… maybe you just don't feel well… "Just call my daughter, or son, or whomever…" That's what we'll do.
If we can't hear you… or if you tell us it's more serious… we will immediately dispatch your local 911 first responders.
We will continue to talk to you until help walks through the front door if necessary. Sometimes up to 3 operators are working your emergency call at once.
We tell the emergency personnel… who you are, where you are, how to gain entry to your home. If we know what the problem is… we'll tell them the nature of your emergency… then we will direct them to the "Vial of Life" for your complete medical information. The Vial tells them about your medications, dosages, frequencies, emergency numbers, etc.
Medical Alert Systems Keep Your Family & Friends Informed
Next, we call your list of responders. These are people, friends or family, who hopefully live within five minutes of your home. We call them so that they can meet the emergency personnel at your door… that way they don't have to break in to gain access. If responders are not a solution for you… a good alternative or addition, is to use a realtor's Lock Box that has your house key locked in it. This box can hang on your door knob or be attached to the door frame. When we call the emergency personnel… we give them the combination to the lock box so they can retrieve your key and help you quickly.
During the entire process from the moment we make contact with you, until the emergency personnel arrive, you won't be alone.
Another of our medical alert operators will start calling a list of your family members or friends that you have previously told us you want notified… we'll tell them just what's happening… calmly. This way you won't arrive at the hospital by yourself.
A word to the wise, whether you choose our medical alert system or another, don't let you or your loved ones live without this modern communication system. Don't wait till the problem becomes larger than necessary.
You will never have to live in fear that you can't get help… ever again…

Can I wear my Senior Medical Alert in the pool?
Open
My mother sometimes swims in the pool at her retirement community. Would it be okay for her to wear the senior medical alert when she goes in the pool?
Clarice
Hayward, WI
Hi Clarice,
The Senior Medical Alert is waterproof and safe to us in the home shower or bath but not in the pool. The chemicals are not safe for the pendant so we would recommend taking off the necklace or wristband before she swims and then making sure to put it back on afterward.
