Take a Tour of our National Monitoring Center Located in Orange County, CA
National Monitoring Center & Senior Safety: A History of Excellence
Our National Monitoring Center (NMC) located in Orange County, CA is one of the two or three Elite Medical Monitoring centers in the United States. It all begins with rock solid reliability and effectiveness. There are several reasons why NMC has attained this lofty elite position. When Jeff Miller, our CEO and pioneer of the medical alarm industry, chose NMC to monitor Senior Safety's clients, he worked with NMC's CEO, Michael Shubert and his crew, to design the way our medical monitoring emergency response center operated.
NMC at the same time received UL Listing, FM approved, and Department of Defense cleared certifications. We contract our National Monitoring Center in a partnership to provide the best medical monitoring center in the United States. Both NMC and Jeff Miller have designed our service to meet Jeff Miller's, NMC's and our certifications rigid standards.
To add the finishing touch to this incredible partnership NMC opened a second redundant monitoring center in Texas as backup. When things get busy they combine to relieve any increased traffic and in the case of a natural disaster at one center the other center will completely take control of all emergencies.
Our Medical Alert Operators are trained like no other
Our National Monitoring Center is committed to providing the highest quality customer service possible. This includes:
Comprehensive customer service-training programs that are designed to teach the operators how to handle all situations.
Quality control systems that evaluates operators and reviews operator performance on a daily basis.
Recording all operator calls and reviewing them on a daily basis. Really!
Comprehensive training programs designed exclusively for medical alarm monitoring.
Certification for all operators who handle Medical Alarms that assures the operators are trained to handle all medical situations.
To ensure we always have more medical alert monitoring operators on hand we have Call Management Systems (CMS) in place to allow controlled growth that monitors the call flow traffic and projects our staffing needs. We even have special weather monitoring software to determine what parts of the country will need special attention.
Heavy traffic periods are directed by the CMS to have the correct staffing to control it. This means it is scalable to all traffic levels. We will never be short handed. Our monitoring center is committed to answering your calls within 2 rings by a live operator.
When you press your medical alert button your call is answered in 20–30 seconds in most situations. Our operators will stay on the line and talk to you until the 911 first responders arrive if necessary. Up to 2 and 3 operators may be handling your emergency at the same time.
Medical alert devices helped get Illinois seniors through the winter
Open
Lots of our customers out of Illinois are breathing a sigh of relief this month. Warmer weather has been on its way and they seem to be in the clear as far as snow goes until the fall. During harsh winter conditions its important to protect yourself with these medical alert devices. A solid medical alert will cover you in the yard and driveway as well during icy conditions. We know lots of seniors have spills during the winter due to snow or ice. Aging seniors who already have balance issues or are prone to falls are especially vulnerable. With medical alert devices, all they'd have to do is press that help button. Even if they are outside and unable to speak to an operator, their medical alert provider will send help! So next year, whether you live in Illinois or somewhere else with a harsh winter - consider medical alert devices for your safety!

Can I wear my Senior Medical Alert in the pool?
Open
My mother sometimes swims in the pool at her retirement community. Would it be okay for her to wear the senior medical alert when she goes in the pool?
Clarice
Hayward, WI
Hi Clarice,
The Senior Medical Alert is waterproof and safe to us in the home shower or bath but not in the pool. The chemicals are not safe for the pendant so we would recommend taking off the necklace or wristband before she swims and then making sure to put it back on afterward.
"We thank your company for the great comfort and assistance you have provided our Mother throughout the years. Your service helped her live on her own till after she was 90 years old."
– Phylis A.
"I want to compliment you on the system as it worked exactly the way it was supposed to when she needed it this past year and your people were great."
