Senior medical alert devices need a home telephone service to work

Open

With any senior medical alert company that you are looking into you will need to have a home telephone service to have service. This is because your medical alert plugs into the phone jack on your wall and uses your phone service to connect you to our monitoring center in an emergency. As you know, home telephone services (cable packages, DSL, or a normal landline) are more reliable than cell phone service. Cell phones are known for sometimes not having a signal, getting bad reception, and even dropping calls. Ultimately, you don't want the senior medical alert that you use in an emergency to be hooked into an unreliable service. If you don't have a home phone, you can add a phone service to your cable package or add a simple landline at a reasonable price!

Does your medical alert work out in my yard?

Open

Our medical alert service is designed to cover your entire home, garage, yard and driveway. Our customers chose medical alert systems for their situation because they were afraid of having a fall or other emergency while they were alone in their home or alone on their property. How would they get the help that they need without anyone around? With our medical alert devices, all your dad needs to do is press that button he wears. If he is outside in the yard, we're not going to be able to speak to him over the medical alert systems speaker box. But we would be able to get him 911 help all the same simply because he pressed his alert button. Speaking back and forth with one of our operators is secondary to actually getting help. If we are unable to speak to your dad, we will call his home telephone to try to make contact. If we are unable to reach him by phone, we have to assume that he is having an emergency, and we would have to dispatch paramedics for him immediately.

We have 30 plus years experience in monitoring seniors

Open

Our company is lucky to have more than 30 years experience working with medical response systems. Jeff Miller, our CEO, was one of the pioneers of the medical alert back in 1981 and has continued to shape the industry ever since. For years, Jeff built these medical response systems by hand and delivered them door to door. Its easy to say that no one knows monitoring seniors like Jeff does. He formed American Senior Safety Agency over 15 years ago. And we are now proud to be the 8th largest medical response systems company nationwide. This is a great spot to be. Being 8th allows the flexibility to take care of our clients with the best customer service available while providing the same reliability you'd get from any of the other top companies. We've been doing medical alert systems for over 30 years now. Here's to 30 more!

24 Hour Personal Emergency Response Systems for dad!

Open

Everyday we answer lots of questions about our personal emergency response systems. We get a fair amount of people who ask if our monitoring center is open 24 hours per day. The answer is "Absolutely!"… Not only is our medical alert monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year - we have a redundant back up center located in Texas just in case our primary center were in the middle of a large-scale natural disaster. With that redundancy in place, you'll know that your dad will be covered no matter what. All he has to do is press his necklace button and help will be on the way! It is fair to assume that the monitoring for all personal emergency response systems is 24 hours a day regardless of the company. But not everyone provides redundant monitoring. So that really is an excellent question to ask any medical alert representative that you speak with! It is important to get a feel for any company's monitoring, how their operators are trained, and so on. Some companies tell you to only go with a medical alert that owns their own center. I can tell you firsthand, there are good and bad monitoring centers owned by these companies just like there good and bad separate monitoring centers that a company might monitor through. So it truly is about the quality of the center, not whether the company owns their monitoring center! We are proud to partner with National Monitoring Center. We work with them every single day to better protect our customers, so we know how great they truly are!
